SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Cameron volleyball team fell in straight sets to No. 10 Angelo State (25-15, 25-18, 25-11) on Friday evening.
Cameron recorded 23 kills to ASU's 58 paced by the Rambelles' leader Mallory Blauser who notched 16 kills of her own.
Leading CU was
Jenna Gillean with 12 kills,
Brittany Lawson with ten digs and
Shelby Mench with 18 assists
The Rambelles began the match with an 8-1 run with just a service error in between. ASU posted a .459 hitting clip in a 25-15 offensive win.
ASU stayed hot in the second set powering 22 kills over Cameron. The Aggies saw an early one point lead twice, but off a 4-4 tie, the Rambelles paired three straight kills with an ace to inch away for a 25-18 victory.
Momentum remained on ASU's side in the third set as took it 25-11.
Cameron drops to 3-23 overall and 1-16 in the Lone Star Conference. ASU is now 26-2 and 16-1 in the league.
The Aggies travel to Tarleton State for a 12 p.m. match on Saturday.
