CANYON, Texas -- Cameron homered four times to finish the West Texas Invitational on a high note on Sunday morning beating Chadron State 8-4.
Carly Allerheiligen hit her first career homer in the opening inning and followed it up with her second in third inning,
Paige Daino blasted her second homer of the season and her 29th career shot, and
Sonora Zukerman hit her third shot over the fence in the seventh for career homer number-34.
The majority of Cameron's scoring came in the opening frame where they would bat through the lineup to score six runs, half of which came from Daino's home run.
Annie Combs and Zukerman both had RBI singles and Allerheiligen scored the sixth run of the inning. Cameron would chase CSC's starter out of the game without recording an out.
Despite the CU lead, Chadron State batted through the order in the second inning doing all their damage with two-outs to plate three runs to cut the Aggie lead to 6-3.
Allerheiligen hit a homer in the third to give the Ags a four run lead before CSC took the run back in the fifth off of a RBI single to center field. Both teams played through a clean sixth inning and Zukerman hit a solo shot in the seventh to bring the score to 8-4.
Chadron State (4-5-1) would out-hit the Aggies by one with 14 and they would leave 12 runners on base for the loss.
Zukerman (3-1) picked up the win in the circle with a complete game and four earned runs charged.
Cameron will move to 8-5 overall and will have a day off before resuming play on Tuesday at Mid-America Christian.
