EDMOND– The Cameron softball team split a nonconference doubleheader with Central Oklahoma on Tuesday. The Aggies took game one 8-7 in an extra inning and fell 11-9 in game two.

The Aggies started off game one with a pair of runs, but UCO would power three consecutive home runs with two outs to lead 4-2 over CU in the first inning. Cameron tied it up in the second, but UCO would tack one on in the bottom to lead 5-4.

The Broncos continued to lead 7-5 into the top of the seventh, but
Jordan Kisselburg would hit a leadoff homer, and
Breezy McComas followed up with an RBI single to tie it up at seven. The game entered an extra inning, and Zukerman hit a leadoff homerun herself for the lead.

In the bottom of the eighth, UCO had two outs and two on base, but a groundout would seal the 8-7 Aggie victory.

Emily Wasinger (8-1) picked up the win in the circle, pitching all eight innings. McComas and Zukerman each recorded three hits; Zukerman also batted in a game high four runs.

In game two, UCO jumped out to 6-0 lead in two innings, but the Aggies struck in the top of the third with five runs off three hits. However, the Broncos stayed ahead with Cameron coming within one run in the sixth on a 2 RBI homer, before the Broncos answered with a homerun of their own in the bottom extending to 11-9 and held off CU for the win.

UCO accounted for 15 hits, while holding the Aggies to eight. The loss was recorded to
Alyssa Osterdock (5-4) who allowed ten hits in the circle.
Annie Combs and Zukerman both hit 2-for-3 on the game and on the doubleheader, Zukerman hit 5-for-8, batting in seven total runs and recorded two homers.

The Aggies will remain on the road next weekend, taking on Texas A&M-Kingsville in a four game series on March 11-12.
