Men's tennis tops NCAA South Central Regional Poll

LAWTON – The Cameron men's tennis team is sitting on top of the NCAA South Central Regional Rankings which were released on Wednesday afternoon by the NCAA Division II Men's Tennis Committee.

Cameron presently holds a 10-2 Division II overall record and a 10-1 record within teams in the South Central Region.  The Aggie matches against NJCAA and NCAA Division I programs are not factored into the rankings by the committee.

Midwestern State followed the Aggies in the poll with, St. Mary's, Western New Mexico, and St. Edward's rounding out the poll. 

The top four teams in the region will qualify for the NCAA Regional Tournament, which will take place May 7-10 at select campus sites. The top two teams from the South Central Region will move on to the NCAA Championship, which will be held at the Gates Tennis Center in Denver, Colo., May 18-21.

The winner of the Heartland Conference Tournament will receive an automatic bid into the regional with the final three spots being determined by the NCAA selection committee as at-large selections.
