STEPHENVILLE, TX– The No. 22 Aggies would drop their series opener 6-1 to Tarleton State but took the night cap in a 4-0 shutout on Friday night.
 
The Aggies' victory over the TexAnns is their first this season when playing at night (1-3) with 
Sonora Zukerman (8-4) being credited with the win in the circle after pitching a complete seven inning shutout where she allowed three hits and walked two batters.
 
Zukerman also highlighted with game with a two run homer in the top of the seventh inning. Now with 42 career home runs, Zukerman is second all-time at Cameron and needs one more to tie the program mark.
 
In the series opener, TSU would edge the Aggies in hits by one, recording eight. The TexAnns scored first on a balk, but CU responded with an RBI double from 
Paige Daino to tie. It remained 1-1 until the bottom of the sixth as TSU manufactured five runs off six hits including a 2 RBI triple.
 
Emily Wasinger (15-5) tossed all six innings, allowing eight hits and walked six. Aggie batters accounted for seven strikeouts with TSU's Haley Freyman walking none.
 
For the nightcap, Cameron started things off in the top of the fourth with a RBI triple from 
Chelsea DeLong, and in the sixth inning, 
Abbey Warren doubled to left field to bat in a runner.
 
Zukerman made it 4-0 in the top of seventh with her third two run homer of the season and eleventh total on the year.
 
Cameron (29-14, 14-8 LSC) will resume play with Tarleton State (23-22, 6-16 LSC) on Saturday for a double header start at 2 p.m.
