Around the LSC: Four other Lone Star Conference matches are on tap on Friday with Texas A&M-Kingsville hosting Western New Mexico, Texas A&M-Commerce at Tarleton State, UT Permian Basin visiting Midwestern State and Texas Woman's at Angelo State. On Saturday, Tarleton State hosts Texas Woman's, Texas A&M-Commerce will be at Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico goes to Texas A&M-Kingsville and West Texas A&M is heading to Midwestern State. Western New Mexico will play a tri-match with Texas A&M-International and St. Edward's in Laredo, Texas.

Rededication: On Friday's match against West Texas A&M, Cameron University will be honoring the McMahon Foundation and rededicating the Aggie Gym for their contributions in upgrades to the seating and sound system between sets two and three. Fans who come the contest on Friday will receive a voucher for free popcorn and soda, plus a spirit roll out banner.

Looking Forward: Cameron will be looking to open their season with a LSC win for the second season in a row on Saturday where they will host the Lady Buffs. The Aggies snapped a 26 match skid to the Buffs with a five set win in Lawton last year. CU has yet to beat WT twice in a row. Against the Falcons, Cameron has won their last four meetings, with Saturday's match being the first visit to Lawton and LSC clash. Within the LSC, the Aggies are eighth in both team and opponent hitting percentage; while in blocks they are last averaging 0.74 per set. Cameron does sit in fourth in the league for digs per set at 18.41.

BoxCast: This weekend will start CU's new partnership with BoxCast who will provide coverage for Aggie webcasts during the 2016-17 athletic season. All standard definition (SD) broadcasts will continue to be provided for free, however there is a nominal $4 charge for viewers wishing to watch contests in high definition (HD).

Looking Back: Through eight matches the Aggies have been pushed to five sets in already four matches. On their fourth try, the Aggies duked out a 3-2 win over St. Edward's after being down two sets to none. The win was CU's only one of the weekend after falling in four sets to Emporia State and being swept by Southern Nazarene; Southeastern Oklahoma edged out CU in a seesaw five set battled as well.Â
Jenna Gillean was named to the All-Tournament team after having 62 kills in her last four matches. Through opening nonconference play, the Aggies have been hitting .170 as a team while averaging 11.53 kills per set.
