SILVER CITY, N.M.– The Aggies would extend their skid to four matches following a 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-20) loss to Western New Mexico on Friday evening.
Cameron fell in straight sets in their third consecutive match to move to 2-10 and 0-4 in the LSC, meanwhile, WNMU advances to 9-4 and 1-1 in the league.
Errors plagued CU, with the Aggies committing 17 to the Mustangs' eight errors. WNMU recorded eight blocks along with a .369 attacking percentage, holding Cameron to one block and .120 overall.
Leading the Aggies was
Jenna Gillean with ten kills,
Shelby Mench with 22 assists and
Kylee Quillin with 13 digs.
The Mustangs came out of the gate strong in the first set posting a .472 hitting clip to lead the Aggies through the set for a 25-15 win.
WNMU also took set two with a 25-14 victory as the Aggies matched their seven kills with seven errors.
Cameron opened the third set with the lead but fell behind after a 6-6 tie. With WNMU at set point, the Aggies took advantage of three Mustang errors paired with a kill by Gillean to close in at 24-20. However, WNMU's Kali Iago would put down the set and match winning kill, 25-20.
Shannon Rich and Samantha Haupeakui paced WNMU with ten kills each.
The Aggies will remain on the road to take on Eastern New Mexico on Saturday.
