SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Cameron men's basketball team fell 81-58 to Angelo State on the road Saturday evening to drop to 4-6 overall and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play.

The Aggies had trouble battling a hot shooting ASU (7-2, 1-1 LSC) who matched their season-high in three-pointers with 12 in the game to CU's seven treys.

Zach Dumas led CU with 12 points as the only Aggie in double digits.
Chris Royal and
Johann Tate grabbed five rebounds each, and Tate also had a team best three steals.

ASU was led by Will Adler with 20 points, Brandon Williams 13 points and Ran Tut with 10 points.

Adler started out the game with back to back threes allowing the Rams to take a ten point lead before Ags first bucket. Halfway through the period, Cameron got within three points but still ended up trailing 39-26 at the half.

In the first half ASU shot 53 percent on the floor while CU shot 30 percent. The Rams made six treys to the Aggie's three with Adler making four three-pointers for his team at the midway mark.

CU still struggled shooting in the second half, falling back to 27 percent from the field while the Rams shot an even 53 percent. ASU added another six shots from out deep, and CU made four.

The Ags had an 11-for-17 effort at the line during the game, to ASU's 5-for-6 at the stripe. The Rams had better luck at the glass, overtaking CU 42 to 36 in rebounding. CU did managed to create 22 points off 16 Ram turnovers.

Midway through the second half, ASU built their lead up to as much as 30 points until time expired and the Ags fell 81-58.
