Game Notes

First tip:
- Cameron men's basketball team concludes their regular season by hosting their Red River rival Midwestern State.
- The Aggies came away with a 1-1 record as they beat Western New Mexico by 20, but fell to Eastern New Mexico, 81-73 in overtime.
- Against WNMU, Cameron controlled the paint, scoring 50 of their 86 points in the painted area, while limiting the Mustangs to just 16 points in the paint; Tyus Momoh led CU with 18 points, while three others chipped in 14 or more.
- In the overtime loss to the Greyhounds, the Aggies led for all but 10 minutes of the game, and went cold in the extra five minutes, converting on just one of their 12 shots; Delvonte Pierre had a career high 31 points, while knocking down seven three pointers before fouling out late in the second half.
- CU is ranked sixth in the LSC standings, just a half a game up on Texas A&M-Kingsville and three games back of the fifth place team Texas A&M-Commerce. If CU wins on Tuesday and Commerce loses both of their games this week then the fourth and fifth seeds in the LSC Tournament comes down to who has the best record against the top seed.  This would also be the case for the fifth and sixth seeds if CU loses to MSU, and TAMUK splits their games this week.
- Cameron is still one of the top teams in the nation, and leads the Lone Star Conference in both turnovers per game and assist to turnover ratio.
- The Aggies are 7-5 at home this season, with a scoring margin of plus 117 over their opponents at the Aggie Gym.
- With his performance on Saturday against ENMU, Pierre now has two 28 or more point and six or more three pointer games on the season; since and including the first game against the Mustangs, he is averaging 15 points and 6.1 rebounds per game, while hitting 23 three pointers in the nine game span.
- Long has been a consistent force for the Aggies in all facets of the game, averaging 13.5 points, 5.2 assists, and 5.8 rebounds during CU's last 10 ball games.
- Momoh has led Cameron in scoring for most of the season, scoring 10 or more points in eighth straight games; he is now averaging 12.4 points per contest on the season, and is hitting on 43.5 percent of his shots from the field and 41.5 percent of his three pointers.

South Central Regional:
The NCAA Division II Regional Rankings was released on Wednesday and the Aggies were among six Lone Star Conference schools included in the rankings. CU was ranked sixth in the region, while Tarleton is first, WT is third and UTPB is fourth. Texas A&M-Commerce and Texas A&M-Kingsville were ranked behind the Aggies in seventh and 10th.

About Midwestern State:
- Prior to winning their last contest against Western New Mexico, MSU was on a six game losing streak, as they have gone just 2-7 since playing Cameron back in January.
- The Mustangs average almost 78 points per game, while giving up just 71.7 to their opponents.
- Midwestern ranks in the middle of the LSC in just about every statistical category, including ranking fifth in field goal percentage and field goal defense.
- Brandon Neel is ranked ninth in the LSC in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game, while shooting 43.4 percent from the field.
- Igor Ibaka, the brother of former Oklahoma City Thunder player Serge Ibaka, ranks 13 in the league in scoring and fourth in rebounding, grabbing 9.3 boards per contest.
- Both Ibaka and Magnus Richards rank in the top-10 of the LSC in blocked shots, while Pat Smith ranks in the top-10 in steals and assists.
- Head coach Nelson Haggerty is in his sixth season as the head coach at MSU, posting a 135-48 record and reaching the National Tournament five times.

The series vs. MSU:
- MSU leads 47-26.
- CU is 19-15 when playing the Mustangs at the Aggie Gym, and has won the past three meetings there.
- Last Meeting: January 17, 2017 in Wichita Falls, Texas (83-74 CU win)

Last time vs. the Mustangs:
In the previous matchup between the two squads, after being down by one at the break, Cameron was able to use a strong shooting night as a team to gain a 10 point advantage in the second half, winning 83-74. The Aggies shot 51 percent from the field and almost 48 percent from the perimeter. Pierre scored 28 points, going 6-8 from three-point range, while grabbing 11 rebounds. Tyler Williams added 13 points for CU, as Long added 12 and both Elish Benjamin and Jordan Lewis each scored 11 points. Neel led MSU with 19 points, while Shawn Nottingham and Ibaka each added 17. Ibaka had a team high 11 rebounds and three blocks in the loss.
