Aggies split double header with Oklahoma Christian

LAWTON, Okla. – The Cameron baseball team split their double header with Oklahoma Christian on Saturday, winning game one 5-3 and falling in game two 6-4 for their first series loss of the season.

After being locked in a 3-3 tie following the fourth inning of the opener, Cameron won in walk off fashion in an extra frame as Micah Kaaukai hit a two run homer for the 5-3 win in eight innings.

In that game, Kaaukai hit 3-for-3, scoring 2 runs and batting in 2. He also stole a base in each game.

Javarias Banks earned the win in game one by striking out both batters he faced but would be charged with the loss in game two after appearing in the ninth, setting up for the save, but instead allowed four OCU runs to move to 2-2 on the mound.

In the nightcap, the Aggies held a 4-2 lead until the final frame where OCU would score four nabbing the 6-4 advantage capped with a two run homer themselves as CU left two on base in the bottom of the ninth for the 6-4 loss.

The Aggies matched OCU's six hits in game one, but were out hit 14-9 in the nightcap.

Jorden Fields led Cameron at the plate in game two, hitting 2-for-4 with 1 RBI. Anthony Acevedo also hit a solo homerun that game.

The Aggies are now 11-3 and OCU is 8-7 overall.
