- After splitting with them in the regular season, the Aggie men's basketball team seeks another win over Texas A&M-Commerce as they face them in the opening round of the Lone Star Conference Tournament.
- The CU men enter the tournament with good momentum, having beaten Midwestern State in their final regular season game, 90-64.
- Against MSU, Cameron was deadly from the field, shooting 54.4 percent, while going 12-25 from three-point range and 17-21 from the charity stripe;
Trey Hall had 23 points, going 7-9 from three, while
JV Long chipped in 20 points and flirted with a triple-double with eight rebounds and eight assists.
- The Aggies 90 point game against the Mustangs was their fourth of the season, which bumped their points per game average to 77.1 points per contest.
- Cameron nationally leads the LSC and is ranked 31 in assist/turnover ratio, 25 in fewest turnovers, and 22 in turnovers per game, while ranking fourth in the conference and 14 nationally in three point defense.

CU owns a 5-12 record in the LSC Tournament, and has been to the postseason the past six seasons. Last season, the Aggies beat West Texas A&M 79-70 in the first round before falling to Midwestern State 88-72 in the semifinal game. Cameron has faced the Lions twice in the tournament, splitting the series at one game apiece.

- The Lions enter the tournament coming off of back-to-back losses in the final week of the regular season.
- Against West Texas A&M, TAMUC lost 100-98, with Malik Albert leading the team with 20 points, while Jovan Austin chipped in 18.
- Commerce lost 86-69 to UT Permian Basin in their final regular season contest, as they shot just 37 percent from the field and 22.7 percent from three; Montrell Little led the Lions with 12 points, as Dorian Armstrong had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds.

Last time vs. the Lions:
The two teams split the series, with each team winning on their opponent's home court. In the most recent matchup, Texas A&M-Commerce came down to the Aggie Gym and won 73-65. Despite shooting 52 percent from the perimeter, CU shot under 40 percent from the field and hit on just 6-10 from the free throw line. The Lions didn't shoot much better, but converted 14 points off of turnovers and 20 second chance points. Pierre led CU with 14 points, as Momoh chipped in 11. Albert had a game-high 19 points for TAMUC, while Carson had 18 points and Armstrong had a season-high 19 rebounds.Â

Against the Bracket:
Cameron got put in the right side of the bracket to make a run at the conference title game. On their side of the bracket, which includes TAMUC, UTPB, and MSU, the Aggies are 5-1, while on the other side of the bracket that includes Tarleton State, Angelo State, Texas A&M-Kingsville, and West Texas A&M, CU was 2-6 against this season.Â

LSC Honors:
The Lone Star Conference awards and All-Conference teams were announced on Wednesday at the annual end of the year banquet that kicks off the LSC Tournament, and two Aggie men were honored.
JV Long was named All-LSC second team, while
Delvonte Pierre was selected on the All-LSC third team. Long, who was last season's LSC Freshman of the Year, averaged 12.1 points per game during the regular season, while leading CU in assists and tying for the team lead in rebounding with Pierre. Pierre averaged10.9 points during the regular season, and had the top scoring games for CU with 28 against MSU and then 31 against ENMU.Â
