About the Aggies:
Cameron has won three of their last four contests, including an 84-62 win over No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce the last time out. They are now 8-12 overall and 4-7 in LSC play, which has them in seventh in the league standings. The Aggies are averaging 73.7 points per game and are shooting the ball at a .428 clip. They are tied for second in the conference in three pointers made per game (8.2), while shooting 34.8 percent from the perimeter. CU is second best in the league with a 2.6 turnover margin while limiting their giveaways to just 11.5 per contest. JV Long has improved his scoring average to 10.4 points while leading the team and ranking fifth in the league with 4.2 assists per outing. Long has also picked up his shooting from the perimeter in the past two games, almost doubling his previous total of three with five in the past two contests. Additionally, Tyler Williams leads CU in rebounds with and average of 5.1 and is second on the team with 9.3 points per game. Tyus Momoh is averaging 9.0 points and Delano Jones, Zach Dumas, and Johann Tate all average over eight points per contest.

Scouting the Rams:
Angelo State enters the contest with CU on a two game winning streak and with a 15-5 record. They have won six of their 10 conference games and are 4-3 when playing on the road. ASU averages almost 85 points per contest, which is third best in the league, while shooting over 48 percent from the floor and a LSC best 38.8 percent from the perimeter. Ja'Michael Brown leads the Ram offense with 13.1 points and 4.5 assists per game, as James Kirksey, Brandon Williams, and Will Adler all average over 11 points. Williams is also the team leader in rebounds (6.3 rpg) and is third in the conference with 1.5 blocks per game.

Last time vs. ASU:
Cameron struggled to get going on offense against the Rams earlier this season as they went just 20-69 from the field and 7-27 from the perimeter in the 81-58 loss. On the other side of things, ASU was red hot, shooting over 53 percent from the field and 52 percent from three point range. Will Adler led Angelo State with 20 points and Brandon Williams and Ran Tut also scored in double-figures. Zach Dumas came off the bench for the Black and Gold and scored 12 points in the loss.

The series:
- Tarleton leads 27-11.
- The Aggies have won just three times in Stephenville, Texas.
- Last Meeting: December 1, 2017 in Lawton, Okla. (64-63 CU win).

Scouting the Javelinas:
Texas A&M-Kingsville snapped a seven game losing streak with a pair of LSC wins over Eastern and Western New Mexico a few weeks ago, but in their last contest they fell to Angelo State to drop to 11-9 overall and 4-6 in league play. They pride themselves on defense, holding the opposition to a league best 66.9 points per game and 31.6 percent shooting from behind the arc. On the offensive side of the ball, the Javelinas average 68.7 points and shot 41.1 percent from the floor and 30 percent from behind the three point line. Trey Sumpter is the lone player on the team averaging double-figures (11.2), while five others average over seven points per outing. Robert Stevenson leads the team in rebounding and blocks, and Caelan Neal leads TAMUK with 45 total assists.

Last time vs. TAMUK:
Earlier this season against the Javelinas, CU got in a defensive battle as both teams struggled shooting over 39 percent. The Ags led by seven points at the break and went 4-9 from three, but they went cold in the second frame as TAMUK outscore Cameron 42-31 to secure the win. Tyler Williams led the Aggies with 13 points and JV Long had 11, while Trey Sumpter had a 13 point, 10 rebound double-double for Kingsville.

The series:
- The Lions lead the series 31-22.
- Cameron has won just three of the last seven meetings against A&M-Commerce.
- Last Meeting: November 30, 2017 in Lawton, Okla. (69-68 TAMUC win).

Looking back:
The Aggies split their last two contests as they fell to Tarleton State, 68-59, and then defeated No. 18 Texas A&M-Commerce, 84-62. Against TSU, CU trailed by 13 at the break and came back, but they came up short as they shot under 40 percent from the field and the perimeter; Elish Benjamin, Jordan Lewis, and Delano Jones all had 10 points for CU. They bounced back and shot over 52 percent against the Lions two days later. JV Long had a 20 point, six assist, four steal performance, while Jalen Nicholas had 17 points and Tyler Williams and Tyus Momoh each had 15; Momoh had a double-double with 12 rebounds as well.

Looking ahead:
Following their games this week, the Aggies will host West Texas A&M and UT Permian Basin for their final two home games of the season. They host WT on Thursday, Feb. 8 and then UT Permian Basin on Saturday, Feb. 10 for homecoming.
