LAWTON, Okla. -- The Cameron men's basketball team will close out the calendar year with a rematch against Dallas Baptist on Saturday, Dec. 29 in Dallas, Texas; they beat the Patriots 79-78 in Lawton earlier this season.

1. Cameron is coming off of a 1-1 record at the Arkansas-Fort Smith Holiday Classic on Dec. 18-19; they took down UAFS 91-86 and lost to Rogers State 61-59.

Tyus Momoh was named the Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Dec. 20 after averaging 13.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, and two steals during a three game stretch where CU went 2-1, including a big win over Lubbock Christian.Â
3. Since their loss to CU, Dallas Baptist has gone 5-2 with a pair of Heartland wins over LCU and Texas A&M-International and one over then No. 11 Southern Nazarene.
4. Junior Carter Brown was named to the Hoops in Hawaii D2 Power Invitational All-Tournament Team after averaging 19 points and eight assists in the teams games against SNU and Chaminade.Â
5. The rematch between CU and the Patriots will be the third time this season that the Black and Gold has played a team for the second time; they split the other two series against LCU and UAFS.
About the Aggies:Â
The Black and Gold enters their final game of 2018 with a 4-7 record, winning two out of their last three contests. They are just 1-4 in true road contests this season with three of their four wins coming at the Aggie Gym. After two strong offensive outings against LCU and UAFS, the Black and Gold struggled against the Hillcats of RSU, shooting just 38.6 percent from the floor and 33.3 percent from the perimeter.
Johann Tate led the way with 13 points, while
Zach Dumas added 12 points and Momoh had 10.Â
Cameron's scoring margin is just over -1.0 points as the team averages 80.2 points per game while their opposition averages 81.5. CU is shooting just over 42 percent from the field this season with a 37.8 three point percentage and a 73.2 percent free throw clip. Though the have a negative rebounding margin, the Aggies still average 35.7 boards per outing, while excelling in ball control with a turnover margin of 3.9 and an assist/turnover ration of 1.0. Leading the way for the Aggies is the senior Dumas, scoring an LSC best 17.8 points per game while ranking in the top-15 in the nation in free throws made and attempted (66-87). He and Momoh are tied for second in the conference with 21 total steals, while Momoh is second on the team with 12.4 points per game and top-4 in the league in assists (3.9) and assist/turnover ratio (1.72). Johann Tate is averaging 11.3 points and shooting 40.4 percent from three and 87.5 percent from the charity stripe, while
Jordan Lewis' 21 point outing against the Lions increased his season scoring average to 8.1 points.Â
Scouting the Patriots:Â
Dallas Baptist enters the game with an 8-4 record, winning all four of their games played at home. They are coming off of a 1-1 record at the Hoops in Hawaii D2 Power Invitational where they beat No. 11 SNU 79-78 and fell to No. 20 Chaminade 87-81. Brown and JT Harris both had 17 points, while DBU as a team shot 47.5 percent from the field, 47.6 percent from the perimeter, and 81.3 percent from the foul line in their win over the Crimson Storm. Brown added 21 points to go along with nine assists and three steals in the loss to Chaminade; the Patriots shot over 54 percent from the field, but was just 7-22 from three and 10-18 from the free throw line.Â
DBU is an efficient offensive team, scoring 81.9 points per game while shooting 47.7 percent from the floor, 39.2 percent from three, and 76 percent from the charity stripe. They are ranked ninth in Division II with 134 three pointers made this season and are averaging 29.7 rebounds, 15.7 assists, 8.5 steals, and 3.6 blocks per outing. Defensively, their opposition is scoring 75.3 points per game while shooting the ball at a 47.8 percent clip.Â
Harris leads a quarter of Patriots that are averaging in double-figures as the senior scores 13.9 points per game while shooting over 54 percent from the field. Jordan Manse and Chandler Jacobs are both averaging just over 11 points while Brown averages 9.6 and is ranked 10th in the nation with 29 total steals. Brown also leads the team with an average of 4.0 assists, and Zach Lord leads the squad with 4.9 rebounds per game.
Nov. 20 Against DBU:Â
In their battle in the Aggie Gym, Cameron used a big second half comeback to earn the 79-78 win.
Zach Dumas fueled the comeback, going 6-11 from the floor, 3-4 from three, and 13-14 from the free throw line. All but two of his 28 points came in the second half, as he was 10-10 from the charity stripe at one point in the contest. He led a team that went 25-33 from the free throw line as a whole. Momoh was also big for CU, nearly recording a triple-double with 14 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, and three steals. Tate was also in double-figures with 10 points, going 4-4 from the charity stripe and collecting three steals as well. Harris was the high man for DBU, scoring 18 points on 4-9 shooting from the field.Â
