EDMOND, Okla. –
Rylee Willmon had a complete game shutout with seven strikeouts in the second game of Cameron's doubleheader split with Central Oklahoma on Tuesday, losing game one 4-1 and winning game two 3-0.
Cameron struggled to get anything going in the first inning, totaling just five hits and leaving seven runners on base in the game, while the Bronchos recorded 10 hits.
UCO scored two runs to open up the game, and after scoreless second inning, the Aggies answered with an
Annie Combs solo home run in the third.
CU's run in the third would be all they would get, as they were held scoreless in the final four innings. UCO, however added insurance runs in the fourth and the sixth to win the game 4-1.
Bethany Hines fell to 12-6 with the loss, giving up three earned runs on 10 hits with 4 Ks.
In the second game, Willmon was dominant in the circle, going the complete game with seven strikeouts and just one walk to earn her 13th win of the season.
After four scoreless innings, the Aggie offense finally provided Willmon some run support thanks to a
Callie Busby RBI double that drove in her sister,
Brenna Busby and then a
Makaylah Ramirez RBI single that scored pinch runner
Aliyah Young.
Cameron added another run in the top of the seventh via B. Busby solo home run for her 10th of the season. Willmon then worked around a pair of leadoff singles in the bottom of the inning to close out the win.
B. Busby led CU with four hits in the doubleheader and two scored runs while Combs totaled three hits and stole two bases; both of them had homers.
The Aggies are now 26-12 on the season, while UCO is now 24-15.
Cameron will now face No. 13 West Texas A&M in a three game series this weekend, April 13-14.
