ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Cameron women's tennis was swept for their second straight exhibition match, as they lost 5-0 to the University of New Mexico on Saturday.
In doubles, the Aggies scored just one point in all three of the matches, as the Lobos won 6-0, 6-1, and 6-0. The one point came in the No. 2 doubles match where
Sara Petric and
Rebeka Velasova got one against their DI opponents.
Zhenia Shviadok put up a fight against her opponent in the No. 2 singles spot, but still fell in two, 6-3, 6-4. The Aggies also lost in the four, five, and six singles matches. Petric lost 6-0, 6-2 at No. 4, while
Alisa Savina fell 6-0, 6-0 at No. 5 and at No. 6,
Pilar Jaurena lost 6-1, 6-2.
Additionally,
Sarah Frendo was down 1-0 in No. 1 singles match and was trailing 2-1 in the second set before the match was called and Velasova trailed 5-2 in the second set after losing the first 7-5.
The Aggies will wrap up their New Mexico trip on Sunday as they take on Abilene Christian for their final exhibition of the season.
