LAWTON, Okla. -- The Cameron women's basketball team were unable to hold on late against Eastern New Mexico on Thursday night, falling 68-67.
Â
In the first quarter, the Aggies were able to shoot over 50 percent from the floor and win the rebounding edge 9-6. That was a huge reason the team finished the first frame up three.
Parfitt McNair, the redshirt Senior from Manhattan, Kan. poured in a quick seven points including a pair of early threes to help get Cameron University off to a hot start. McNair finished with 9 points and three steals before fouling out of the contest.

Â
CU enjoyed a 56 percent field goal percentage, with that number jumping up to 69 percent when shooting from beyond the arc.
Â
Chelsea Hedibrecht led the squad in scoring with ten points at the break while grabbing a pair of defensive rebounds and a steal on the other end. The senior from Lawton, Okla. provided a huge spark off the Aggie bench. She went on the finish with 14 points, three rebounds, a steal and a block.
Â
Before the first media timeout of the third quarter, CU was charged with three fouls while being on the wrong side of an 8-1 run by the Greyhounds.
Â
The Greyhounds were able to pull within three to close out the third quarter behind a 16 point scoring outburst from Treyanna Clay, six of which coming in the third frame. Clay finished with 23 points and grabbed four rebounds.
Â

Â
With a minute and thirty seconds left in the contest, CU found themselves down by two. Out of a timeout,
Lejha Smith was able to tie the game up with a layup, and run down the floor and get a huge defensive stop for the Aggies with under a minute left in a tied game. Smith finished with countless stellar defensive efforts as she anchored the Aggies defense and three points.
Â
Down by one with fifteen seconds left, the Aggies called a timeout. Despite a good look at the rim, the shot did not fall and that dropped the Aggies to 7-12 on the year and 4-7 in league play.
Â
Maighan Hedge poured in 14 points in the second half to help stabilize the Aggie offense. Hedge finished with 21 points, one assist, and three steals.
