LAWTON, Okla. -- After a pair of tough losses to begin 2019, the Cameron men's basketball team will look to bounce back as they host Western New Mexico on Thursday night and UT Permian Basin on Saturday afternoon.

Tyus Momoh is coming off a career-high 23 points against Texas A&M-Commerce; he went 9-20 from the floor, 3-9 from three, and 2-3 from the foul line while collecting seven rebounds and six assists.
2. Cameron is fourth in Division II and first in the Lone Star Conference in free throws made (271) and second and sixth in free throws attempted (370);
Zach Dumas leads the charge, ranking first in the LSC and top-15 in the nation in free throws made and attempted.
3. Western New Mexico's Leston Gordon averages 1.2 blocks per game and has 12 on the season, ranking fifth in the LSC.
4. UT Permian Basin's Xavier Ledet was named the Lone Star Conference's Offensive Player of the Week on Monday, after averaging 19 points and 10 rebounds and shooting 78.9 percent against West Texas A&M and Eastern New Mexico.
5. The Falcons are top-10 in the nation in scoring offense, field goal percentage, rebounding margin, and three point defense.
About the Aggies:
Cameron is currently on a four game losing streak and are 4-10 overall and 0-4 in league play. During that span, the Aggies are averaging just 62.2 points and shooting 34.1 percent from the floor and 29.5 percent from the perimeter. Most recently, CU was held to just 48 points against Tarleton State and lost by 17 to Texas A&M-Commerce. Against TSU, Dumas and Momoh combined for 22 points, while Momoh had 23 points and
Jalen Nicholas chipped in 12 points and eight rebounds against the Lions.
On the season, Cameron is scoring 76.6 points per game while shooting just over 40 percent from the field and 35.3 percent from long distance. They also hit their conference leading 19.4 free throws per game at a 73.2 percent clip. Defensively, they allow 82.1 points per game to their opponents who are shooting 46.7 percent from the floor. The Black and Gold also averages 36.1 rebounds, 12 assists, 8.3 steals, and 1.5 blocks per outing.
Dumas leads the team and is third in the conference with 16.2 points per game, to go along with 3.3 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.9 steals per contest. Momoh is second on the team with a scoring average of 12.6 as well as second with 5.2 rebounds per game and first with 4.1 assists per outing. Additionally,
Johann Tate is scoring 10.7 points per game, while Nicholas leads the team with 5.3 rebounds per game to go along with a scoring average of 6.9.
Scouting the Mustangs:
Western New Mexico enters the game with Cameron on a six game losing streak owns a record of 3-7 with an 0-3 conference mark. Most recently the fell 72-55 to West Texas A&M, as they shot just 29.2 percent from the floor and 59.1 percent from the foul line; Jon-Reese Woodson led the team with 13 points. On the season, they are scoring 72.2 points per game while shooting the ball at a 43.2 percent clip, including a 28.5 percent clip from three. They also grab 31.8 rebounds per game and block 2.7 shots per outing. Woodson leads the team with a scoring average of 13.4 points while grabbing 5.6 rebounds per outing. Willie McCray is also scoring in double-figures on the season, averaging 11.9 points while shooting 34.5 percent from the perimeter.
The Series Against WNMU:
Cameron is 4-1 all-time against the Mustangs, winning all four of their LSC matchups in the past two seasons. Last season, CU won 101-79 at home against WNMU behind 24 points from Dumas, while on the road, the Black and Gold won 82-78 as Dumas and Momoh each chipped in 10 points in the winning effort.
Scouting the Falcons:
UT Permian Basin is 9-4 on the season with a 2-1 league mark after losing a close one-point game to No. 13 West Texas A&M and a 14 point win against in-state rival Eastern New Mexico. Jacob Ledoux led the way with 21 points against the Buffs, while Ledet had 20 points in the win over the Greyhounds. UTPB's 90.5 points per game is first in the LSC and seventh in the nation, scoring 90 or more points in a game, eight times this season. They are shooting almost 52 percent from the floor, while hitting their three point field goals at a 38 percent clip and their free throws at a 74.5 percent clip. The Falcons are also grabbing 9.9 more rebounds than their opposition, while averaging 16.1 assists, 8.8 steals, and 2.2 blocks per outing. Ledoux is second in the LSC with 17 points per game, while shooting over 45 percent from the floor. Two other Falcons are scoring in double figures with Kyree Elder scoring 13.5 points and Ledet chipping in 10.6 points per game. Ledet also leads the team with 6.7 rebounds per outing, while Elder averages a team-best 3.2 assists.
The Series Against UTPB:
Cameron is 3-3 all-time against UT Permian Basin, but lost both of the matchups last season. In the first meeting, UTPB came away with a 95-88 win in Odessa, Texas, and then won 73-66 in Lawton. However, they do not return anyone that played in either of those contests, but Tate reached double-figures in both games for CU.
