Championship Update:
With just three games left in the season, Cameron holds a one game lead over the Mustangs in the LSC standings for the final spot in the championship tournament. MSU must win on Tuesday to make the tournament, otherwise, the Aggies will claim the final spot as they will hold the tiebreaker. If MSU wins, it will come down to next week's contests against Texas A&M-Kingsville and Angelo State. If the Aggies were to win their final three games they could end up anywhere between the sixth and eighth seeds in the tournament. At the top of the standings, West Texas A&M has a firm grasp on the No. 1 seed, while Texas A&M-Commerce is in second with an 11-3 record. Angelo State, Eastern New Mexico, and Tarleton State are all three separated by a game or less in third through fifth place, while UT Permian Basin and Texas A&M-Kingsville are tied for sixth in the standings with 6-8 league records.Â
Next Up:
Cameron will wrap up the regular season next week as they host Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday, Feb. 28 and then Angelo State on Saturday, March 2. The ASU game will be both Homecoming and Senior Day.Â
