SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Cameron's women's tennis team fought hard on Friday, but dropped a 4-2 contest to No. 8 West Florida to fall to 3-7 on the year.
The Aggies fell behind 1-0 after
Sarah Frendo and
Sara Petric lost 6-2 at No. 1 doubles and
Melany Opolz and
Pilar Jaurena fell 6-1 at No. 3.
Frendo, who is ranked No. 32 in singles, battled at No. 1 singles, but fell to the No. 1 ranked player in DII, Berta Bonardi 7-5, 6-1. CU's two points came at three and four singles, with
Sara Petric winning 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 and
Alisa Savina recording the 6-1, 6-1 win at No. 4.
Cameron, who is now 3-7 on the season, will face No. 10 Indianapolis at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday.
