Aggies take down No. 13 Tarleton State

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – The Cameron women's tennis team remained perfect in Lone Star Conference play as they took down No. 13 Tarleton State 4-3 on Tuesday.

The Aggies started off on a high note winning two out of the three doubles matches to go up 1-0. Rebeka Velasova and Alisa Savina defeated No. 43 Alicia Barbarouz and Neetika Sud 7-6 at the one doubles spot. At No. 2, Sarah Frendo and Sara Petric beat their opponents from TSU 6-4, while Melany Opolz and Pilar Jaurena lost 6-3 at No. 3.

Cameron then secured wins at the one, three, and four singles spots to take the 4-3 win. No. 18 Frendo won 7-6, 6-3 at No. 1, while Petric came away with a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 and Savina won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 4.

With the win, CU moves to 6-9 overall and 3-0 in LSC play while the top-15 ranked TexAnns are now 8-4 overall and 2-1 in league play.

Next up for the Aggies will be a matchup with No. 16 Angelo State on Friday, March 29 at 1 p.m.
