LAWTON, Okla. – The Aggie women's tennis suffered their second Lone Star Conference loss of the season on Friday, falling 5-2 to No. 34 Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Cameron opened the match by losing all three doubles matches by a score of 6-1, allowing the Javelinas to take an early 1-0 lead.
It didn't take long in singles play for TAMUK to secure the match recording wins at No. 2 and No. 3 to take a 4-0 lead. CU got their first point of the game at the three spot, as the No. 3 ranked
Sarah Frendo beat her opponent 6-0, 7-6. The added another at No. 4 when
Alisa Savina came back from a 6-0 set one loss to win the next two sets 6-4, 6-2. The Javelinas won in three sets at No. 6 to score their fifth point of the match.
Cameron is now 7-12 on the season and 3-2 in LSC matches, while the Javelinas improve to 10-5 overall and 4-1 in league play.
The Aggies now just have three more matches left in the regular season. They will host No. 9 Central Oklahoma on Wednesday, April 17, for a match beginning at 2 p.m. CU will then visit Newman on April 19 and then host MSU Texas on April 25.Â
