ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. – The Cameron men's tennis team's impressive season ended on Tuesday after falling to No. 7 West Florida in the opening round of the NCAA Division II Championship.

Cameron started out the match in a 1-0 hole after falling at the one and two doubles spot. In the ranked battle between No. 15 Vinicius Santos/Julen Gutierrez and No. 25 Serdar Bojadjiev/Vitinho Galvo the two teams battled back and forth until the UWF pair took the match 7-5. The match at two was similar with No. 44 Mritunjay Badola/Przemyslaw Zielinski falling 7-5 as well.

Pierre Marion and Oscar del Granado found themselves trailing 4-1 early on at three, but came back to tie the match at six before the other two ended.  

The first singles decision came at the one spot between No. 5 Bojadjiev and No. 6 Santos. Bojadjiev took the advantage with a 7-6 (7-3) win in the first set and then finished the match with a 6-2 victory in set two.

West Florida then earned a 6-4, 7-5 victory at six and a 7-6 (8-6), 6-3 win at two for the third and fourth points of the match, giving them the 4-0 win.

Zielinski, Gutierrez, and del Granado all were in the third set of their matches before the match ended with the loss at two.

Cameron ends the season with a 19-5 record and the highest win percentage by a CU men's tennis team since 2013.
