1. In their 80-76 loss to Midwestern State last Saturday, the Aggie men nearly completed a 25-point comeback in the final 16 minutes of play, cutting the MSU lead down to two points with just 1:44 left to play in the contest.Â

Andrew Nguyen notched his second double-digit scoring outing of the season against the Mustangs, scoring 13 points on 5-8 shooting from the field; this season when Nguyen has played at least 10 minutes in a game he is averaging 7.4 points.Â
3. UAFS is led by Jim Boone, who is in his first year as head coach for the Lions after spending seven seasons at Delta State and has spent the last 33 seasons coaching at the NCAA Division I and II levels; the Lions are 7-10 overall and 3-8 in league play.Â
4. The Lions' Brian Halums was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week on Monday after scoring 44 points against A&M-Commerce last Thursday; Halums is currently leading the LSC in scoring with 25.9 points per game.Â
5. Oklahoma Christian enters the week with a 5-10 overall record and a 4-7 conference mark under interim head coach Kendre Talley who took over the program last spring. Â

After falling behind 46-28 by halftime, the Aggie men mounted a 25-comeback that fell short against their rival Midwestern State last time out. CU was able to cut the deficit to just two points with less than two minutes on the clock thanks to a big lift off the bench and the support of over 500 Ft. Sill cadets. The Mustangs got a clutch offensive rebound to secure the win over the Black and Gold. Nguyen led the way with 13 points off the bench, while
Darius Green added 12 points and
Kendall Scott and
Jalen Nicholas each had 11 for the Aggies, who shot 40 percent from the floor and 32 percent from three in the contest.Â
About the Aggies:Â
After their split with the Mustangs last week, Cameron is now 4-12 on the season, 3-7 in conference play and 2-2 against divisional opponents. They are averaging 70.3 points per game which is an average of 7.3 points less than their opposition. CU is shooting 41 percent from the field, 35.7 percent from three, and 69 percent from the charity stripe. They are second in the LSC with 38 rebounds per game, including a league best 13.4 offensive boards per outing. Cameron turns the ball over 15 times per game compared to an average of 11.1 assists while they average 5.9 steals and 2.0 blocks defensively.Â
Four Aggies average right under 10 points per game led by
Jordan Lewis and
Brock Schreiner, who are both average 9.9 points this season. Lewis is shooting 42 percent from three, while Schreiner leads CU with 2.1 assists per game.
Kendall Scott and
Tyler Williams are both scoring 9.7 points per game as Scott is ranked in the top-10 of the LSC with his 7.0 rebounds per contest and Williams averages a team-high 1.2 steals.Â
Scouting the Lions:Â
Sitting at 7-10 on the season, UAFS started the season with a 5-1 record in November. Since then, they have gone 2-9 and snapped a four-game losing skid with a win over UT Tyler last Saturday. The Lions are averaging 67.9 points per game, just an average of 1.8 points less than their opponents. They are shooting just over 46 percent from the field, 33.7 percent from three, and 65.6 percent from the charity stripe. They average just 32.8 boards per contest, while recording 12.4 assists compared to 14.1 turnovers each outing. Defensively, UAFS averages 5.5 steals and 2.5 blocks while allowing opponents to shoot 43.4 percent from the floor.Â
Halums not only leads the team and the conference with his 25.9 points per game, but he also leads the team with 8.8 rebounds per contest and shoots over 54 percent from the field. Second on the team in scoring is guard Matthew Wilson, who averages 15.9 points and 2.4 assists. Additionally, Chris Rollins averages 8.1 points and 5.8 rebounds while Charles Botchway leads the squad with 4.3 assists per contest.
Scouting the Eagles:Â
Oklahoma Christian enters the week with a 5-10 overall record and a 4-7 Lone Star Conference mark after falling in their last two contests against A&M-Commerce and UT Tyler. They average just 61.1 points per game and shoot 41.4 percent from the floor, 31 percent from three, and 70 percent from the charity stripe. OC controls the glass by an average of 1.5 rebounds per game and turns the ball over 15.1 times per game compared to an average of 10.7 assists. On defense, the Eagles average 6.3 steals and 4.1 blocks while giving up 65.5 points per game to their opposition.Â
Forward Dedrian Parmer Jr. leads OC with 16.9 points per game while also grabbing 7.0 rebounds per contest and shooting 50 percent from the floor. Aubrey Johnson averages 12.7 points and has made 43 triples this season, while Marcus Blackwell averages 8.4 points and 5.5 rebounds. Additionally, senior forward Will Lienhard leads the squad with 8.0 boards per game and 33 blocks, 2.8 per game, which is tops in the conference.

Following their divisional road trip against UAFS and OC, the Black and Gold return home to face Texas A&M International on Jan. 30 and then open up the new month against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Feb. 1.Â
