WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Aggie women got off to a rough start on Friday to begin their four-game slate of matches in Wichita Falls, Texas, losing 4-2 to Metro State and 4-3 to Colorado Mesa in two close battles.

Cameron's first match of the day against MSU Denver started off on a high note with the Black and Gold winning two out of the three decisions. Alisa Savina and Alex Lopez took down their opponent at No. 1, 6-4, while Vasilisa Polunova and Melany Opolz won at two, 6-2, to take a 1-0 lead in the match.

The Aggies would only get one more win in the shortened match, as the junior Savina won 6-1, 6-2 at the four spot. Both Polunova at one and Julianne Garcia at No. 5 took their matches to three sets before falling.

In their second match against Colorado Mesa, the Aggies were on the wrong side of a 2-1 decision in doubles play, falling behind 1-0 to the Mavericks. CU's lone win came from Lopez and Savina at No. 1, where they won 6-3.
