WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Cameron tennis program swept a pair of matches against Colorado State-Pueblo on Saturday morning with both teams winning 7-0.

In the women's match, CU secured their first official win of the spring by opening Saturday's contest by winning two of the three doubles battles.
Vasilisa Polunova and
Pilar Jaurena won 6-4 in the two spot, while the duo of
Melany Opolz and
Julianne Garcia defeated their opponent 6-1 at three.

All six singles decision were won in two sets by the Black and Gold. Jaurena did not allow her opponent at five to score a point, winning 6-0, 6-0. Three of the other four matches were in deciding fashion, while Garcia was up 4-0 in the first set before her opponent was forced to retire.

Cameron's men continued their hot streak with their second straight 7-0 victory. That dominance started in doubles play with a 6-1 win at No. 1 by
Bruno Vietri and
Oscar del Granado, and then a 6-2 win at two by
Maycon Dias and
Santiago Berdasco; the three match went to CU by default. Â Â

The Aggies continued their strong play into singles play, winning all five decisions by two sets with the sixth going to the Aggies by default.
Jesus Villamizar earned a clean 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 4, while
Julen Gutierrez secured a 6-1, 6-1 win at four.

Cameron's women are now 1-5 on the year and the Aggie men are 5-3.

Both Cameron squads will be back in action Sunday morning with a pair of matches against ranked opponents in the men and women's squads from Southwest Baptist. Those matches played on the campus of Midwestern State are scheduled to start at 9 a.m.
