TOPEKA, Kan. – The Cameron University track and field teams wrapped up their first indoor meet of the season on Saturday as a handful of Aggies competed on day two of the Washburn Open.

In the women's 60m dash, freshman Hailey Sutton, who competed in the pole vault on Friday, ran a time of 8.93 and then followed that up with a time of 29.40 in the 200m dash. Her teammate Prisca Kouao placed 30th in the 200m event, running a time of 26.66. Kouao also competed in the 400m dash, finishing in 14th place with a time of 1:00.88.

The Aggie women had two finishers in the 800m event, with Alejandra Collier finishing in 23rd with a time of 2:42.86 and Jessica Parnell running a time of 2:49.06 to place 26th. Edna Cheptum and Vivien Chesire finished in 18th and 23rd respectively in the one mile race, with Cheptum recording a time of 6:21.39 and Chesire finishing in 7:34.20.

On the men's side, Roman Esparza ran a time of 25.34 in the 200m, while Madison Edwards had the top performance for CU, finishing in eight place in the 800m event with a time of 1:58.79. Justin Hill and William Hodges also competed in the 800 finishing in 14th and 15th with times of 2:01.38 and 2:01.49 respectively.

Saulo Yoel led the trio of Aggies in the men's mile, running a time of 4:28.76 good for 13th, while Isehaq Mawi finished 23rd at 4:45.25 and Clement Carre placed 26th with a time of 4:58.91.

Cameron had four men running in the 3000m race, with three of those Aggies placing in the top-20. Eduardo Gutierrez came in 11th place with a time of 8:54.29, followed closely by Loic Rossignaud in 12th with a time of 8:55.54. Nino Heluin came in 16th place at 8:59.70 and Jason Cousineau rounded out the group in 22nd with a run time of 9:11.76.

The Aggies will be right back in Topeka on Feb. 12-13 for their next indoor meet of the season, the Ichabod Invitational, also hosted by Washburn.
