RICHARDSON, Texas – Cameron Athletics had 87 student-athletes honored on Monday when the Lone Star Conference released the 2021 Fall Commissioner's Honor Roll.
The Lone Star Conference announced that 2,293 student-athletes have earned Commissioner's Honor Roll honors for the 2021-22 fall semester.
Cameron baseball had the most names in the department on the list with 18, followed by softball with 14, women's basketball with 12, women's cross country and track and field with 10, men's tennis with six, men's golf, women's golf, women's tennis, and volleyball with five each, men's basketball with four, and men's cross country and track and field with three.
The Aggie women's basketball team had eight of their 12 selections post 4.0's last semester, while baseball had six, softball had four, men's tennis had three, men's golf had two, and all the other teams had one except for the women's cross country and track program.
For the conference, West Texas A&M had 199 student-athletes recognized for their academic achievements to lead all LSC institutions. Oklahoma Christian was second with 193 honorees, followed by Angelo State (174), Texas A&M-Commerce (158), and DBU (156) in third through fifth.
Of the 2,293 honorees, 738 (32.2%) earned a perfect 4.0 GPA for the fall semester. WT and Lubbock Christian topped the list with 69 student-athletes each completing unflawed semesters followed by ASU with 62, A&M-C (59), and UT Tyler (54).
Women's soccer had a league-best 100 student-athletes earn perfect marks followed by volleyball (80), softball (75), and baseball (71).
The Commissioner's Honor Roll is announced at the conclusion of the fall and spring semesters with student-athletes, athletic training, and athletic performance students qualifying based on grade point average for the current semester. To be eligible for the honor roll, individuals must have a minimum 3.30 GPA for the current semester and be on the roster.
