LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron volleyball dropped Saturday's match to Lubbock Christian 20-25, 20-25, and 12-25 inside the Aggie Gym.
Arianna Navarrete led CU with eight kills, Jacee Stelter recorded five, Caitlyn Henderson added four, and Jessica Lipkit and Trinity Maldonado had two.
Anjolie Navarrete and Alice Tuci recorded nine assists, and Meagan Jimenez added two.
Tuci scored three aces, while Araujo, Jimenez, Lipkit, and Arianna Navarrete had one.
Jimenez had a team-high 18 digs, Arianna Navarrete collected eight, Lipkit and Anjolie Navarrete scooped five, Natalia Araujo recorded four, Tuci and Henderson grabbed three, and Stelter added two.
For the second straight game, Maldonado led Cameron with seven blocks, Henderson collected four, Lipkit had three, Stelter added two, and Araujo, Arianna Navarrete, and McKenzie Tysor had one.
The Aggies started in a 1-3 hole before tying the opening set at 5-5. Lubbock Christian would go on a 1-5 rally to build a 6-10 lead, but CU responded to knot the score at 10-10. LCU used another 1-5 run to create a 12-16 advantage. The Black-and-Gold would cut the deficit to two, at 16-18, but could not get any closer, falling in the opening set 20-25.
In the second set, the Lady Chaps would jump to a quick 0-4 lead, extending their lead to 4-13 after an 0-6 run. Cameron would claw back into the set, trimming the score to a one-point set three times at 18-19, 19-20, and 20-21, but could not get over the hump, falling 20-25.
CU will travel to Canyon, Texas, to face off against West Texas A&M on Wednesday, Oct. 26, at 6:00 pm.
