The Aggie tennis programs opened the season earlier this weekend by splitting matches against top junior college teams Collin County and Tyler. They both faced their first Division II match of the season when they met SAU at the Ennis Indoor Center.
In the women's match, CU got off to an early 1-0 lead with

Vasilisa Polunova and
Karolina Glowinska winning 6-3 at the two spot.
Lea Manga in the two singles position and
Kateryna Rudenko at four both won their matches in two sets to give the Aggies a 3-0 lead. Uspenskaia claimed the fourth and final point for CU, winning 6-3, 3-6, 6-2 at three to earn Cameron's second win of the year.
Cameron's men had to face a SAU squad that has already beaten No. 11 Delta State and No. 19 Southwest Baptist this season. The Aggies started down one after doubles play with
Carlos Vidal and
Baptiste Mercier losing 6-0 at one and
Thomas Cardona and
Tomas Almeida losing 6-4 at three.
The Muleriders added to their lead with wins at two and three over Vidal and Almeida to go up 3-0 and then Mercier had to pull out of his match because of injury, handing CU their second loss of the year.
Both Aggie squads will take on Division I UT Arlington next Sunday, Feb. 20, and then will play their first home matches on Feb. 22 against Cowley County.
