EDMOND – The Cameron softball team's nine-game winning streak came to an end on Sunday with loses to Rogers State, 17-2, and Central Oklahoma, 8-3, to wrap up week two of the season.

One of the best starts in program history, the Aggie softball team started the season 9-0 but faced their toughest tests on Sunday against Rogers State, who was receiving votes in the NFCA Preseason Poll, and host team Central Oklahoma.

Rogers State came out and looked as advertised, scoring two runs in the first and then exploded for 12 in the second, before finishing off the offensive explosion with three in the third.

Cameron's only runs in the loss came in the fourth when
Breley Webb singled to bring home
Khmari Edwards and then
Josie Swafford doubled in
Kylie French.

The Aggies had just four hits off the bats of the four mentioned players in the 17-2 loss, five-inning loss. The Hillcats totaled 18 hits off the combination of Swafford,
Jocelyn Bright, and
Robyn Bales in the circle.

In game two against the Bronchos, the host squad scored single runs in the second and third to open with a 2-0 lead. Cameron got one of those runs back in the top of the fifth, with
Madyson Marvulli driving in
Karis Clark on a single.

Central Oklahoma answered with a big five-run bottom of the frame, thanks to a pair of homers, to extend their lead to 7-1.

Each of the teams scores single runs in the final three half innings with Cameron's coming on a solo homer by Edwards in the sixth and a UCO error bringing home
Haley Castle in the seventh.

Marvulli and Swafford each had two hits as CU totaled nine in the loss. Webb gave up six of the eight runs on seven hits and four walks while Swafford gave up two, one earned, on four hits during her 1.2 innings in the circle.

Now 9-2 to start the season, the Aggies play their first two games at their home McMahon Field on Wednesday, Feb. 16, for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
