SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Aggie women's golf improves eight strokes, finishes in ninth at the Rattler Invitational on Tuesday.
Cameron opened the shortened 36-hole event at the Dominion Country Club with a score of 324. They bested that in the final round on Tuesday, shooting 316 to finish with a total score of 640.
Iona Roska led the way for CU, finishing with a score of 154 after shooting a 76 in the final round. She placed 20th individually, while teammate
Ellie Fellers tied for 25th, matching Roska with a 76 in the final round to card a 157 for the event.
Additionally,
Ashley Davis shot 81 on Tuesday, finishing with a 36-hole score of 162, while
Gerdur Ragnarsdottir and
Emma Englefield matched scores of 167 after both shooting 83 in the final round.
The Aggies totaled 16 birdies and 96 made pars over the 36-hole event. Roska led the team with six under-par holes while Davis made a team-best 23 pars over the two-day span.
Tenth ranked West Texas A&M took home the team title, shooting 592 and besting the host team St. Mary's by eight strokes. UT Tyler finished in third place with a 602 while Henderson State came in fourth and Texas A&M International placed fifth. CU finished three back of UAFS, who finished eighth.
Southwestern Oklahoma's Megan Brown beat out three other players to win the individual title, leading the field with a two-round score of 144.
Cameron's next tournament is the Midwestern State Mustang Classic, March 14-15, at the Wichita Falls Country Club.
