FRISCO, Texas – Cameron's Brock Schreiner and Deondre Earley were honored on Wednesday night as the Lone Star Conference announced their end of the year honors at the LSC Championship Banquet. 
 
Prior to the start of the quarterfinals of the LSC Championship Tournament on Friday, the LSC recognized deserving men's basketball student-athletes as the All-Conference and All-Academic teams and special awards were handed out. 
 
Schreiner was voted to the All-Academic team for the third straight season. The fourth-year guard averaged 12.6 points, 3.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.5 steals this season while shooting nearly 33 percent from three and 89 percent from the charity stripe. Schreiner scored over 10 points in a game 15 times this season and had a season-high 29 points on Feb. 08 against Texas A&M-Commerce. He also became the 18th member of the Cameron 1,000-point club on Feb.12 in the Aggies' upset win over then No. 3 Lubbock Christian. 
 
Joining Schreiner on the All-Academic team by the Academic Player of the Year Logan Cook from St. Edward's, DBU's Julian Miranda, LCU's Parker Hicks, and UT Tyler's Milan Szabo. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must have played in at least 50 percent of team's contests, reached sophomore athletic and academic, completed at least one full academic year at the nominating institution, and have a minimum 3.30 cumulative grade point average based on the 4.0 system for their entire collegiate career. The LSC All-Academic team is selected by a vote of the league's sports information directors.
 
Earley was one of five players to be named to the LSC's All-Freshman team. The first-year Aggie averaged 6.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.3 steals while shooting 41 percent from the field, 33 percent from three, and 70 percent from the charity stripe this season. Earley had a season-high 17 points against Western New Mexico on Dec. 2 and had a stretch of four-straight games with two steals from Feb. 5-12. 
 
In addition to the teams announced, six special awards were also announced on Wednesday night. Hicks was named the Player of the Year with his coach Todd Duncan being named the Coach of the Year. The Lion's Clashon Gaffney was voted the Defensive Player of the Year with Juliua Brown from West Texas A&M earning Newcome of the Year honors. DBU's Austin Garner claimed the league's top sixth man honor and Kentrall Pullian was awarded the top freshman honor.
