STOCKTON, Calif. – After a solid start to the NCAA Division II West Regional on Monday, Cameron's
Iona Roska had a rough second round and now sits outside of the top-20 individually.
Cameron's first women's golfer to make the NCAA postseason, Roska started strong in round one before a pair of bogeys on the back nine put her at 2-over through 18 holes at the Brookside Country Club.
Roska had a rough start to the second round, recording back-to-back over-par holes on three and four after starting the morning on one. She settled in and hit five straight pars to hold a 41 heading to the back nine. The senior started the back with her third birdie of the event but then finished 4-over on the back to give her an 81 for the round.
After 36 holes of play, Roska is tied for 43rd with a score of 155. She has made 23 pars to go along with her three birdies during the first two rounds of play.
Faith Kilgore of Colorado Christian and Texas A&M International's Sahara Washington are currently tied for first with a 137 through 36 holes, three strokes ahead of the third place player.
On the team leaderboard, the Dustdevils still hold the top spot with a 580 with DBU in second, CCU in third, and Texas A&M-Commerce in fourth. West Texas A&M is on the outside looking in at the top-4 spot.
Roska will tee off for the final round on Wednesday morning at 11:50 a.m. She is paired up with two individuals from Sonoma State and they will start on hole 10.
After Wednesday's final round the top-4 teams and top-2 individuals not on qualifying teams will advance to the NCAA National Championship.
