Aggies Stumble Saturday

LAWTON, Okla. – Cameron was tripped up by Dallas Baptist on Saturday afternoon, dropping the Lone Star Conference matchup in the Aggie Gym 14-25, 14-25, 14-25.

Caitlyn Henderson would lead the Black-and-Gold with six kills, Arianna Navarrete added five, Paris Patterson had four kills, Natalia Araujo and Trinity Maldonado collected three, and Jacee Stelter had one.

Anjolie Navarrete dished out 14 assists, Alice Tuci had four, Patterson collected two, and Meagan Jimenez had one.

Jimenez would have Cameron's lone ace.

Patterson would lead the Aggies with six digs, Arianna Navarrete added five, Jimenez and Anjolie Navarrete added four, and Araujo, Henderson, Stelter, and Tuci collected one.

Maldonado would swat two blocks while Henderson and Arianna Navarrete collected one.

Set one would open with the two teams trading scores ending up tied at 4-4. DBU would use a 1-11 run to build a 14-5 lead, closing out the first set 14-25.

The Patriots opened set two building a 4-11 lead after scoring five straight points. Dallas Baptist would use another 0-5 run to stretch their lead to 7-18 and go on to take the second set 14-25.

CU would take a quick 3-1 at the opening of the third frame. DBU would rally back with a 2-12 rally to take a 7-16 lead. The Aggies would go on a 4-1 run to trim the score to 11-17, but Dallas Baptist would close out the Black-and-Gold with a 3-8 run, taking the match in three sets.

Cameron will travel to San Antonio next Friday to take on St. Mary's on Sept. 23 at 6 pm.
