SAN ANTONIO – Cameron dropped the Lone Star Conference matchup against St. Mary's on Friday 0-3, inside the Bill Greehey Arena.
Arianna Navarrete would lead the Aggies' offense with five kills, Caitlyn Henderson recorded three, Natalia Araujo, Trinity Maldonado, Anjolie Navarrete added two, and Jessica Lipkit and Jacee Stelter had one.
Alice Tuci led CU with seven assists, Anjolie Navarrete added six, Meagan Jimenez, Ada Kuday, and Stelter had one.
Lipkit, Anjolie Navarrete, and Stelter recorded an ace.
Jimenez and Stelter led the Black-and-Gold with 10 digs, Tuci added four, Henderson, Lipkit, Anjolie Navarrete collected three, Kuday scooped two, and Araujo, Maldonado, and Arianna Navarrete had one.
Lipkit and Maldonado led the Aggies with three blocks, Henderson swatted two, Anjolie Navarrete, Arianna Navarrete, and Stelter collected one.
The opening set was led by StMU early, but a resilient Cameron squad battled back to tie the set at 13-13 and took a 15-14 lead. The Rattlers rallied 0-5 to take a 15-19 lead, then used a 1-6 run to close the set at 17-25.
The Aggies jumped to a 5-2 lead in the second set. St. Mary's would respond with a 2-23 run to take the set 7-25.
StMU opened set three with a 0-5 lead, building it to a 1-9 advantage. CU would cut the score down to four at 7-11. After an 0-7 run by the Rattlers, they would hold a 7-18 lead before closing the match with a 12-25 win.
Cameron will travel to Austin, Texas, to face St. Edwards tomorrow, Sept. 24, at 1 pm.
