ARLINGTON, Texas – The Cameron men's tennis program followed the women's teams facing off against Division I UT Arlington to open their season Saturday morning, dropping the contest 6-1.

CU will return home to host Cowley County CC at the Streich-Henry Tennis Complex on Sunday with a noon start time.

The Mavericks took all three doubles to start with a 1-0 lead. Tomas Almeida and Thomas Cardona dropped at the one 6-2, Baptiste Mercier and Alexandre Post fell at two 6-3, and Kristian Kubik and Emilio Seelbach lost 6-1 at three.

Almeida took a 6-3, 6-3 defeat at the one spot for the singles, Mercier fell at the two 6-1, 6-1, before Cardona secured a point at the three with a 6-1, 6-4 win. Kubik fell 7-5, 1-6, 6-10 at the four, Joao Duleba dropped the five 6-0, 7-5, and Alvaro Chavez lost in the matchup at six 6-4, 6-1.
