TYLER, Texas – On Wednesday, the Cameron softball team finished the series with No. 2 UT Tyler with a 7-1 loss at Suddenlink Park.
The Aggies fall to 6-6 overall and 3-3 in the Lone Star Conference. CU will return home to host Midwestern State on Saturday and Sunday for a three-game series. The first pitch is scheduled for March 25 at 2:00 pm.
Josie Swafford got the start on Wednesday but could not get out of the first inning, allowing four runs on one hit and four walks. Jocelyn Bright threw the final 5.2 innings giving up three runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
Kylie French, Karis Clark, and Maci McMurtrey collected a hit for the Black-and-Gold. French was responsible for the lone run, with a home run in the sixth.
The Patriots built a 4-0 lead in the first before adding a run in the second and the fourth.
In the sixth, Cameron would get a run off a solo home run by French.
UT Tyler answered with a run in the bottom of the inning to take a 7-1 lead.
