WICHITA FALLS, Texas – Cameron placed seventh in a deep field that included the No. 2 team in the nation at the Midwestern State Invitational at the Wichita Falls Country Club on Tuesday.
Maelle Dreyer led the way for the Aggies, who placed seventh after a three-round score of 329-319-323—971. Dreyer tied for 29th place after shooting an 80-83-79—242.
Ellie Fellers had a two-day total of 79-85-80—244 to finish in 32nd. Ashley Davis tied for 36th after recording an 88-72-87—247.
Emma Englefield had a scorecard of 85-84-79—248 for 28th place, and Maria Jose Savoca placed 40th after shooting an 85-80-85—250.
Dallas Baptist won the tournament after recording a 902-team score, and Olivia Mitchell of DBU won the individual crown with a score of 220.
Individuals Mollie Wheeler finished tied for 34th after scoring an 81-77-88—246, Molleejo Crain carded an 89-89-82—26 to place tied for 47th, Carley Bolding climbed to 49th place after a final round of 83 to go with her 93-87 to total 263, and Malerie Nyberg tied for 52nd place with a score of 89-91-91—271.
CU made 130 pars in the tournament and connected on 13 birdies. Davis led the way with five birdies, Fellers sunk three, Savoca made two, and Dreyer and Englefield had one birdie. Individuals Crain made four, Wheeler hit three birdies, Nyberg made two, and Bolding had one.
Cameron travels to Tyler, Texas, to participate in the King-Alfred Spring Invitational hosted by UT Tyler on March 20-21.
