OKLAHOMA CITY – The Cameron women's golf team finished the Diffee Ford Lincoln Invitational Tuesday in eighth place at the Lincoln Park Golf Course.
Maria Jose Savoca tied for 11th place with a two-day total of 73-74—147, and Ellie Fellers tied for 25th after shooting a 76-75—151.
Maelle Dreyer recorded a score of 81-75—156 to place tied for 39th, Ashley Davis ended the two days tied for 63rd after turning in a final card of 87-77—164, and Emma Englefield tied for 68th with a two-day total of 85-80—165.
The Aggies had a team score of 315-301—616. CU parred 95 holes over the two days, Savoca leading the way with 23, and Dreyer and Fellers connected on 21. The Black-and-Gold made seven birdies on day two for a total of 13 in the tournament. Fellers and Savoca made four, Davis hit three birdies, and Dreyer and Englefield made one.
Mollie Wheeler tied for 82nd after shooting 89-80—169. She made two birdies and parred 11 holes.
Henderson State extended their lead to 20-strokes to win the tournament, and Gracen Blount of HSU won as an individual after recording a -3 par.
Next week, Cameron will travel to Wichita Falls to play in the MSU Invitational.
