YUKON, Okla. – The Cameron women's track and field team 4x400 relay wins at SCU/Paul Parent Invitational on Saturday hosted by Southwestern Christian.
The 4x400 relay team of Daesha Brathwaite, Saarah Hill, Genevieve Young, and Malethabo Seema ran the race in 4:14.60, holding off Southern Nazarene by just under four seconds.
In the 100-meters, Denim Boone placed second with a time of 12.45 seconds, and Hill finished in third, clocking a finish of 12.49 seconds.
Hill came in second in the 200-meter sprint with a time of 25.68 seconds, Boone placed third with a time of 26.28, and Amiah Osborne finished 12th, running the race in 28.71 seconds.
Young led the Aggies in the 400-meter race with a time of 1:03.34 to place second, Anne de Jong finished in fifth with a time of 1:04.90, Seema placed eighth running the race in 1:05.60, Melohdee Marroquin finished in 10th place with a time of 1:06.19, and Sharon Singoei clocked a time of 1:10.81 and placed 14th.
In the 1500-meters, Arian Spears had a sixth-place finish with a time of five minutes and 28.51 seconds, Delicia Delgadillo crossed in ninth place with a time of 5:39.02, Evalynn Pedroza placed 10th, running the race in 5:47.72, and Singoei had a time of 5:48.09 to finish in 11th.
CU had three top six finished in the 5000-meter run, as Belle Vignes places third with a time of 19:54.00, in fourth place was Emma Costantini with a time of 20:50.96, and Delgadillo clocked a finish of 21:50.76 to finish in sixth place.
In the field events, de Jong finished in fourth place in the high jump with a jump of 1.48m (4'10.25"), and Osborne jumped 3.81m (12'6") to finish in 10th place in the long jump.
Cameron heads to Houston to run in the Fred Duckett Twilight on Saturday, April 22.
