CANYON, Texas – Cameron dropped the first game of the series with 12th-ranked West Texas A&M 4-0 at Schaeffer Park on Friday evening.

With the loss, the Aggies are locked into the fifth spot in the Lone Star Conference standings, heading into the postseason, which will be held at UT Tyler on May 4-6 at Irwin Ballpark.

Kylie French went 1-for-3, and Mikayla Richmond was 1-of-2 with a stolen base and a walk.

Josie Swafford was saddled with the loss after allowing four runs on nine hits over six innings and striking out three.

WT scored a run in the second, third and two in the fourth to take the opener 4-0.

CU and the Lady Buffs will square off for a doubleheader to end the regular season on Saturday, starting at 1:00 pm.
