Edmond, Okla – Cameron wins by three over the Eagles.
The Aggies won a hard fought game on Thursday night as they took down the Lady Eagles. Cameron jumped out to an early lead when Katie Kiing scored off of a steal to grab the first points of the game. The Aggies would maintain the lead through the first period of play. During the second period the Eagles would take the lead, sparking a back and forth that lasted through the remainder of the contest. The lead would change hands eight times and the score would be tied, CU jumped out to a seven point lead late in the fourth. Oklahoma Christian brought the game to within two points with one minute to go before
Kailyn Lay hit a free-throw with 7 seconds left to put the Aggies up by one. Tough defense by CU forced the Eagles to take an off-balance shot that missed the mark, giving Cameron the win 53-50.
Shamica Smith and
Korie Allensworth scored 15 points each while
Katie King and
Kailyn Lay added 14 and 9 respectively.
Cameron continues their long road stretch on Saturday, Jan. 27, at 1:00 p.m., when they take on the University of Arkansas Fort Smith.
