San Antonio, Texas - The Aggie Volleyball team falls to St. Edward's and St. Mary's on October 4 and 5th.
How It Happened (Game 1)
SET 1 |Â The Aggies started strong, keeping pace with St. Edward's throughout the set, which featured three ties and three lead changes. Cameron's attack was led by
Kayla Eggiman and
Zaria Jones, who each contributed with key kills. Despite their efforts, the Aggies were caught in the final moments of the set, falling 25-23.
SET 2 | In the first couple of points of the game, the Aggies managed 10 kills, but errors, specifically in serve reception and attack, led to lost points.
Rhayan Earl and
Hailey Baker contributed with solid defense and attacking plays, but the Aggies fell short, losing the set 25-17.
SET 3 |Â St. Edward's maintained a strong block and service game. Despite some highlights from
Kayla Eggiman and
Rachael White, who facilitated attacks and contributed to defense, Cameron could not close the gap, losing 25-15.
How It Happened (Game 2)
SET 1 | After St. Mary's opened with a 5-0 run, Cameron managed to respond with kills from
Hailey Baker and
Kayla Eggiman. The Aggies had many errors back-to-back, and St. Mary's took advantage, winning the set 25-13.Â
SET 2 |Â The second set was a very close game early on, with three ties as the teams traded points. Cameron's offense was led by
Jennifer Valdez and
Kayla Eggiman, but a series of errors allowed St. Mary's to win the set, 25-11.
SET 3 |Â
Kayla Eggiman was able to get some kills through, and
Jennifer Valdez delivered two service aces that brought the Aggies within 11 points. However, St. Mary's maintained control with solid blocking and attacks, closing out the set 25-10.
The Aggies will play their next game at
Aggie Gym on Wednesday, October 9th for their first home game of the season. The Aggies will take on Eastern New Mexico University and the game will be streamed on FloSports.
