Aggie Baseball unable to pick up win in doubleheader

UTPB's high powered offense proved too much for CU

In game 1 of the doubleheader with UT Permian Basin, Cameron University Baseball exhibited a remarkable comeback in the 6th inning, mustering two crucial runs. Hunter Smith's pivotal double emerged as a highlight, driving in both Lance Barnett and Donovan Borg, showcasing the Aggies ability to capitalize on scoring opportunities. Although they fought valiantly, Cameron couldn't quite close the deficit against UT Permian Basin's dominant lead and fell 2-6.

Game 2 of the doubleheader looked promising early on, with the Aggies taking a 2-0 lead in the 1st inning thanks to Lance Barnett's double and a walk that brought in another run. However, UT Permian Basin swiftly turned the tide, capitalizing on opportunities in the 2nd and 3rd innings to amass a commanding lead. Despite Cameron's efforts to rally back, including Wyatt Grant's impressive two-run homer in the 5th, UT Permian Basin's high-powered offense proved too much to overcome as the Aggies as UTPB took the third game of the series 15-4.
