WICHITA FALLS, Tex. - The Cameron University women's golf team closed out the three-round Midwestern State Invitational on Tuesday, finishing 14th after 54 holes.
The Aggies finished with an overall team score of 117-over, shooting 48-over in round one, 25-over in round two, and 44-over in round three. Dallas Baptist finished first in the tournament at 8-over, while Odessa and St. Mary's rounded out the top three at 14-over and 18-over, respectively.
Maria Savoca carded the lowest score of the tournament for the Aggies at 12-over to finish 22nd individually. Savoca scored a hole-in-one on the fourth hole during the second round, the first ace of her career and the Aggies' second of the season.
Valentina Leyva Serrano and
Lauren Gatsos finished tied for 68th with scores of 29-over, while
Mollie Wheeler and
Jacinta Massie finished in 76th and 84th with scores of 34-over and 42-over.
The Aggies will be back in action to finish out the fall schedule at the Tulsa Cup, played at The Club at Forrest Ridge in Broken Arrow, OK from Oct. 27 through Oct. 28.
