Bethany, Okla. - The Cameron University Men's Basketball team won in double overtime against Southeastern Oklahoma State University Saturday evening. Throughout the first half, it was a back-and-forth battle between the Aggies and the Savage Storm, with Cameron leading 41-40. In the first half, Cameron shot 50% both from the field and from beyond the arc. In the second half, SEOS shot 68.97% from the field to keep themselves in the game with Cameron. In the last thirty seconds of the second half, SEOS would miss an and-one free throw that would have made the game a three-point difference. Jordan Mitchell would then get fouled and make both free throws to force the first overtime. The battle would continue in the first overtime, where Cameron would take a 102-99 lead, until SEOS would hit a critical three-pointer to tie it once again. Jordan Mitchell took a step-back three in the last five seconds that he would miss, and Brodie McWhinney would miss the tip-in put-back and end up going into the second overtime. The second overtime would see SEOS take a one-point lead in the last thirty seconds of the game. Jordan Mitchell would hit the go-ahead three-pointer with 0:08 seconds remaining to propel Cameron ahead of the Savage Storm. SEOS would miss the tying layup, and the Aggies would secure the win. 

The Leaders 

  • Jordan Mitchell led all scorers from both teams with 31 points and shot 10-of-12 free throws. 
  • Brodie McWhinney scored 20 points while shooting 62.5% (5-of-8) from behind the arc.
  • Arzhonte Dallas contributed to the win with 16 points and dished out 10 assists, giving himself a double-double. 

Inside the Box Score 

  • Cameron shot 50% (16-of-32) from behind the arc. The Savage Storm shot 34.1% (15-of-44).  
  • SEOS scored 46 points in the paint to Cameron's 34 points. 
  • Cameron had 16 second-chance points, and SEOS had 18 second-chance points.

The Aggies will begin conference play at Eastern New Mexico on Thursday, December 4th, in Portales, NM, at the Steve Loy Family Foundation Arena at 8:30 PM (CST). The game will be streamed on FloCollege.
