LAWTON, Okla. — Women's Tennis team delivered a spirited performance against nationally-ranked #14 St. Mary's, earning a doubles point and a gritty singles win in a 5-2 loss.
The Aggies came out firing in doubles play, securing the early lead with victories on courts one and two. The top duo of
Martyna Jankowska and
Jenna Goessel blanked their opponents 6-0, while the No. 2 team of
Anastasia Uspenskaia and
Magda Wawrowska sealed a 6-3 win with steady baseline play and strong communication.
In singles, Cameron's highlight came from Goessel, who overcame a first-set loss to storm back and win her match at No. 3 singles in three sets, 2-6, 7-5, 6-0. Her dominant final set capped an impressive individual effort.
Despite the early advantage and Goessel's comeback, St. Mary's depth proved decisive. Cameron dropped the remaining singles matches, including hard-fought battles from Jankowska and Uspenskaia, who pushed their opponents to the brink.
The results reflect the Aggie's growing competitveness as the team continues to challenge top-ranked programs and sharpen its play heading into the postseason.
