Silver City, New Mexico - The Cameron University women's basketball team defeated Western New Mexico University Thursday evening. In the first quarter, the Aggies started slow and trailed the Mustangs. Cameron battled back in the second quarter, finding some offensive rhythm, and led 36-30 going into halftime. It was a back and forth battle, before the Mustangs took the lead and extended it to double digits, with a 12 point margin in the third quarter. Late in the fourth quarter it was a tight game, until
Kloe Heidebrecht hit a clutch three-pointer to give the Aggies the lead with 2:32 left in the game. Cameron made free-throws down the stretch to secure the team their first win of the season.
