Lawton, Okla. - The Cameron University men's basketball team took down Angelo State University on Thursday night. The Aggies started off strong offensively, at one point leading Angelo State by as many as 14 points in the first half. Cameron hit 6 three-pointers, with 4 different players knocking down shots from behind the arc in the first half. Cameron would end up leading Angelo State, 36-29, going into halftime. Angelo State quickly tied up the game in the beginning of the second half. The Rams and Aggies battled back-and-forth before Angelo State took the lead, going up as many as 8 points. With 1:54 left to go in the game,
Jordan Mitchell knocked down a three-pointer to bring the Aggies within 5 points.
Brodie Mcwhinney hit three free-throws after being fouled on an attempted 3-pointer to cut the lead down to 2 points with just over a minute left.
Jordan Mitchell then hit a clutch three to put Cameron ahead by 1 with 36 seconds to go in the game. The Aggies knocked down key free throws after a defensive stop to close out the game and earn the victory.
