Tyler, Texas- The Aggies Men's Tennis Team starts off their three match series in Tyler, TX with a 4-1 victory over Auburn Montgomery. Cameron took the early lead with the doubles point after a 6-2 win by the #2 doubles team of
Santiago Ledesma and Abubakari Yakuba-Lea. Tom DeBonne and
Zoheir Fardoun secured the come from behind victory at #3 doubles winning 7-4 in a tiebreak to get the set 7-6. The #1 doubles match featuring #12
Lukas Janousek and
Noe Milliard was left unfinished in a tiebreak.
Onto the singles, #4 singles Abubakari Yakuba-Lea sprinted to a 6-2, 6-2 victory followed by #2 singles
Noe Milliard winning 7-6, 6-1 for the 2nd and 3rd point for the Aggies. The Warhawks secured their lone victory of the day upsetting #5 ranked
Lukas Janousek at #1 singles 5-7, 6-3, 6-0 for Janousek's first loss of the spring. Cameron finalized the victory with #6 singles Tom DeBonne clinching the victory 6-3, 6-3 while #3 singles
Santiago Ledesma was serving for match point 6-7, 6-3, 5-4 leaving the match unfinished.
The Aggies will be back in action February 28th as they face #2 West Florida for Day 2 of the event in Tyler, TX with the match starting at 11:30 AM.
